Tomek had come home from months of work to find his wife married to another man. Devastated, he left his home for the streets. He was penniless—left to beg on street corners, in mosques, and at train stations in his city.

One morning while Tomek was begging on a corner, an East-West national partner noticed him and had compassion on him. The partner gave him some food and a little money, but then he did something unusual … he sat down to talk with him.

Tomek was glad to have someone to talk to, or even just someone who wouldn’t look away at the sight of him. It wasn’t long until the conversation turned to spiritual matters, and Tomek listened carefully as the believer began to share about Jesus.

The national partner said that Jesus is the only provider a believer needs because He can provide for every kind of need. Tomek weighed these words carefully in his head. He could see that this man next to him truly believed and had experience with this Jesus.

Then Tomek said, “I believe what you say, and I want to follow Jesus.”

Just days after deciding to follow Jesus, Tomek found a job with a regular salary and praises his Lord and Savior for also being his Provider.
