You’re most likely familiar with John 14:6 where it’s made clear that Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Him.

Throughout the Gospel of John, Jesus speaks to the issue of God’s truth. He constantly said, ““Very truly I tell you ... .’” This is His way of making it clear to mankind that peace with God and inexpressible joy comes by knowing the truth of God and walking in it each day.

Now that we are brought into the family of God, our daily role—publicly and privately—is becoming and being the voice of God by manifesting the truth of God.

In John 1, John the Baptist refers to himself as the voice declaring the truth of God (John 1:23). If ever there were a time to be a voice by going public with your identification with Jesus Christ, it is today.

Today the Church—born-again believers—has been intimidated to keep silent and maintain a private belief that Jesus Christ is the only hope of the world. But God has called you and me and the whole Church to go public in the fullness of God’s grace and truth with the name that is above every name—Christ Jesus.

Stats I’ve seen on believers ranging from 18-40 years old show that only one in 25 live publicly with a biblical worldview and only one in 52 have ever shared their faith with someone who is a non-Christian.

We need to ask our Lord to make each of us a voice for Christ. Let’s ask Him to use each of us to help people consider Jesus as their Savior and to encourage other believers by the way we live out and speak to others about the eternal life found in Christ.

Our choices in life will be reflected in the first 60 seconds that we’re in the presence of Jesus. No Christian wants to feel in that moment that his life was wasted. We don’t want to think, “Lord, if I had only known.”

Brothers and sisters, there are no excuses. It’s time to make choices for the fame of Jesus in public and in private, with or without the applause of our peers. Today, let’s commit to Christ’s agenda. He is the One who bought us with His blood, indwells us with His presence, and destines us for His glory.

Nothing is more important than the obedience of stepping into Jesus’ agenda and being a voice for His truth.

“May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you the same attitude of mind toward each other that Christ Jesus had, so that with one mind and one voice you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.” -Romans 15:5-6, emphasis added
