Arresting them could not stop them
When you work in dark nations, you inevitably encounter evil on many levels. But we know that what man intends for evil, God will use for good. Such a circumstance recently occurred for some of the local house church leaders in Central Asia.
In this particular Central Asian nation, you need permission for religious gatherings which is practically impossible for Christians. To hold an unsanctioned religious gathering would be illegal, but it didn’t stop a few local bodies of believers from gathering to worship.
However, the government became aware of their meeting and threw three local pastors in jail where rats roam free and the people are uncared for. They could be held in this jail for 90 days or until their case was heard in a local court.
Despite being prisoners, the local pastors took every opportunity they had to share the gospel with their fellow inmates and those who worked at the jail—never doubting the goodness of their God. Only a little over a month later, they were released without a reason and ready to continue sharing the Good News wherever the Lord takes them next.
Join us in praying for these pastors and their courage to continue sharing despite the very real obstacles they face and in praying for those inmates who heard the gospel to respond and follow Jesus with courage and strength.
