Equipped to Share

For years Sunita* struggled to engage others in conversations about the hope she found in Jesus. She wanted to share how Christ changed her life, but she felt ill equipped to share the gospel … until she attended an East-West training.

During the first day of training, Sunita learned that her faith journey was a simple way to ignite conversations about Jesus. She suddenly realized that even her daily activities should be viewed as opportunities to share the gospel.

On her bus ride to the second day of training, Sunita felt the Holy Spirit nudging her to share Jesus with the 81-year-old woman sitting beside her. Remembering her East-West training and recognizing the bus ride as an opportunity, Sunita turned to the woman and asked, “May I tell you my story?”

Within moments other passengers had turned a listening ear as Sunita shared her story and explained that God loved them and sent His only Son—Jesus—to die and rise from the grave so they could have eternal life.

Some moved away in anger, but the elderly woman sat silent... captivated by the Man named Jesus.

In that moment she believed and exclaimed, “I have been riding this bus all my life to finally hear this wonderful news about Jesus!”

Sunita was amazed that God could use her story to change a life. She now approaches each day with confidence … knowing she is equipped to share the gospel and that there’s someone passing by that has waited a lifetime to hear about Jesus.
