As soon as a short-term missionary stepped off a plane in South Asia, he was filled with questions.

How in the world am I going to share the Gospel with these people? Who am I to think I’m qualified to share a message of such magnitude? Why me?

Previously confident in his ability to share the gospel, he was overwhelmed by the daunting task of declaring Jesus among people who’d never heard His Name and invested their lives in worship of Hindu gods.

But he didn’t have long to dwell on the questions and concerns that haunted him.

Within a few hours, his team was dropped off at the base of the Himalayan Mountains to start their weeklong trek to the unreached.

Mid-way through the trip, the missionary and his translator approached a small home and was greeted by Hiral*—a woman riddled with chronic side pains after falling months ago.

Wrestling with doubt in God’s healing power, the missionary encouraged the translator to pray for this woman’s healing. Immediately her pain left.

The missionary was stunned by the miracle he’d just witnessed and knew it was time to share the real reason why he’d come to visit.

But before he could get to the gospel, Hiral interrupted Him … sharing that the moment she saw him walking toward her home, she knew the missionary had come to tell her about his God—the true God.

At the Holy Spirit’s leading, the missionary told Hiral Bible stories of Jesus healing people from their physical ailments and spiritual brokenness.

Hiral had already received Christ’s physical healing, and in that moment she believed in His eternal healing from the brokenness of sin … restoring her relationship God.

That day two lives changed.

Hirla was reborn into a new life in Christ, and the missionary learned that he could be used by God to lead people to faith in Jesus no matter the cultural context.
