Lostness is our greatest global issue.
More that 4,000 people groups—totaling over 3 billion people— have not had an opportunity to accept God’s grace. But there is hope. And it starts with people—like you and me—responding to Jesus’ call to make disciples of every nation.
We reference the book of Acts often in the mission world when seeking insight into God’s method for church multiplication. But I believe its contents have a greater purpose; they help believers find their place in the greatest story.
Acts ends with this cliffhanger:
“For two whole years Paul stayed there in his own rented house and welcomed all who came to see him. He proclaimed the kingdom of God and taught about the Lord Jesus Christ—with all boldness and without hindrance!” –Acts 28:30-31
This stark conclusion leaves many wondering, “What happens next?”
That’s where you and I fit into the story. Our lives are intended to finish what the Holy Spirit started through believers like Peter, James, Barnabas, John, Stephen, and Paul.
The story is still being written until people from every tribe, tongue, people, and nation worship at the feet of Jesus (Revelation 7:9).
We simply have to faithfully take bold steps forward in our personal response to the Great Commission. People long to make their lives count for something greater than themselves… and yours can by following Jesus into hard places to proclaim His praises to the lost.
Have you found your place in His global gospel story?
