Hien* was sick and desperate to find peace and healing, so she devoted herself to worshiping idols and visiting the Buddhist temple. One day at the temple, she asked to be healed … but nothing happened.
Hien then journeyed to a nearby city in search of a cure for her illness. A local believer opened her home to Hien and told her stories of Jesus healing the sick and saving the lost. Memories of this Man flooded into Hien’s thoughts.
She remembered hearing about Jesus from her younger sister 10 years earlier, but she had not wanted to follow Him then.
That night Hien experienced a stomach ache so painful that she could not sleep. Her host—the local believer—told her that if she chose to trust in Jesus, she could be healed. Though she rejected Christ a decade ago, something in Hien switched.
The Holy Spirit had tilled the soil of her heart to truly profess Jesus as her Lord and Savior.
After Hien said yes to Jesus, the pain left her body and she fell asleep. She awoke the next morning feeling healthier than she had in years … all because Jesus had healed her disease!
Her new faith filled her with peace and a desire to be sent to tell other people about the eternal healing made available to all who call on Jesus for salvation. Because of Hien’s new, healthy life in Christ, every day she seeks to glorify God by making disciples in Southeast Asia.
