God Loves the Lost

Read 2 Peter 3:9, Romans 5:8, Luke 19:10.

How many people die everyday?

If you look up the statistics, it ranges from 151,000 to 162,000 each day. With less than 20-percent of the world’s population claiming to be evangelical Christians, that means an overwhelming majority of those who die each day enter an eternity of agony and pain because they do not have a relationship with Jesus Christ.

As believers, what do we do about that? I think our first step of action starts with remembering this simple truth: God loves the lost.

We—like them—were once wandering in the wilderness until we believed in God’s work of salvation at the Cross of Jesus Christ. Now our Lord depends on you and me to tell the lost that He loves them.

I’m reminded by the daily death statistics that time is short. Believers, God has given us a tremendous blessing in being able to tell the lost that God loves them, and we need to boldly do so.

Father, thank you for the love you’ve given us and the world. Please prick our hearts with a desire to share the love of Jesus Christ with other people. Amen.
