Read Matthew 1:23 and Luke 2:10.
Immanuel means "God with us." Think about how amazing it is to have God with us!
And He is with us through the Person of Jesus Christ. How much more amazing is it that He even wants to be with us. Today do you feel that He is with you?
Most of the time, I know God is with me. But there are times—especially while living in a different culture with a different language and different customs—that I feel very alone. Then I think about those who long to know God and do not know Jesus as Immanuel—God with us.
In Luke 2:10, the angel tells the shepherds, "I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people." From His birth, Jesus—God with us—is good news for all people … everywhere.
Is there someone in your life that needs to know that today?
God, gives us opportunities and winsome words to share the gospel with people who do not know You as Immanuel—God with us. Amen.
