For those in Southeast Asia who choose to follow Jesus, life is anything but easy.

With a miniscule percentage of Southeast Asians identifying as Evangelical Christians,* followers of Christ face constant social and political persecution as they boldly profess their faith.

However, God is at work in this hostile environment.

Recently, two Southeast Asian men named Hao** and Sahn** completed the first phase of East West’s church planting training where they learned effective methods to share the gospel and their own personal testimonies of faith.

Hao and Sahn understood that internalizing the word of the Lord and learning to share it was not enough—they needed to obey.

After much prayer, Hao and Sahn were compelled by the Holy Spirit to use their new evangelism tools to share the gospel with the people living in a nearby district. Although some people turned away from the message of Jesus Christ, many said yes to the gospel for the very first time.

Hao and Sahn put their church planting knowledge into practice, and God blessed their obedience by establishing a new church that will multiply disciples in this spiritually dark place.

Join us in praying that the new church established through Hao and Sahn would become a catalyst for future church planting efforts across Southeast Asia. May their obedience stand as an example of unapologetic faith for other Christ-followers in this region.
