In Europe, several cities are “open” for ministry among Middle Eastern refugees who have fled their homes in search of peace and safety. People classified as unreached and typically inaccessible by gospel workers are now reachable as believers go to meet their physical needs and share the good news of Jesus throughout Europe.
It is to these places that East-West is sending short-term trips to serve as ministers of God’s truth and love to Muslim refugees.
On one of these recent refugee outreach trips, participants visited a family from war-torn Syria.
They sat and listened to their stories, learning that this family fled their city after a devastating bomb killed nine extended family members and destroyed their homes.
As they continued talking about Jesus and what the refugees believed about Islam, one of the Muslim men said boldly, “Mohammed is dead, but Jesus is alive.” Through the missionaries’ compassion and understanding, they began softening to the message of God’s grace.
Please pray for these refugees and others who are being followed up with and offered opportunities to study the Bible.
