Henrik was exposed to Christianity at a young age. He attended church services and camps with his sister, and knew a lot about God … but at age 10, the gospel had no affect on his life.

Then Henrik developed a serious intestinal disease. Life was hard for his family, and they completely abandoned the church.

Five years passed before Henrik and his sister learned of a new church—one pastored by an East-West national.

At the encouragement of friends, they chose to visit the church together. They enjoyed the service and the community invited the siblings to their small group gathering.

They went for weeks and eventually joined the group for pickup soccer games at the local park. Henrik’s sister soon believed in Jesus and officially joined the church … but Henrik was hesitant.

Just like the days of his childhood, the gospel remained head knowledge with no heart response. Yet, Henrik loved soccer and the friends he’d made, so he continued to surround himself with the Christian community.

Then a miracle happened—a Sunday sermon transferred the gospel from Henrik’s head to heart for the first time.

In that moment, he knew it was time to repent and believe in Christ. After years of knowing about Jesus, Henrik accepted Him as his Lord and Savior and is taking the next step of obedience through baptism.
