Moving the Gospel Forward

A few months before serving with East-West, Kumar and Ria lost their child in a drowning accident.

Despite the overwhelming grief from losing their beloved child, the couple was filled with a sense of urgency to tell their countrymen about Jesus.

They live in South Asia—an area known for its booming population and spiritual darkness—and they knew God wanted to use them in their mourning to bring His hope to their nation.

So one week they partnered with an East-West missionary to go door-to-door sharing the gospel.

At one home, they met a man named Mahesh who worshipped Hindu idols. He worked hard to live a life pleasing to the gods he revered, but he was weary from the seemingly endless cycle of reincarnation.

As the national partners and missionary shared that Christ loved him and died for him in the midst of his sin, Mahesh began to believe he didn’t have to work tirelessly to please God.

Instead, Christ completed the work for him at the Cross.

Mahesh knew that day was the end of his restless laboring and instantly placed his trust in Jesus.

Filled with the same urgency as Kumar and Ria, Mahesh began reaching out to his neighbors to share the gospel. During that week of ministry in South Asia nearly 3,500 heard the Good News of Christ.
