“There is a certain openness that characterizes Central Asians—an openness of heart,” explained Namdar*, an East-West national church planter in Central Asia.
Namdar was once given the opportunity to escape the turmoil of his country in the midst of a civil war in Central Asia. Yet his passion for the work that God was doing among the open hearts of the Central Asian people captivated his soul . . . compelling him to stay and participate in God’s life-changing work.
Nine years ago, Namdar was introduced to East-West’s training model for sharing the gospel and planting house churches. As Namdar began to put into practice the teachings of East-West trainers, his consuming passion for reaching the lost with the gospel was ignited:
“Once a house church is planted, it is exciting to see how people come to faith as a result of that one church. It’s like an addiction. Once you see God’s hand moving in such a way, you can’t do anything else with your life.” -Namdar
Namdar has committed his life to reaching the people of Central Asia with the gospel. He spends most of his time traveling from village to village, visiting with families and developing relationships among the open hearts of the Central Asians. As Namdar develops new relationships and shares God’s gift of salvation, a growing number of Central Asians are choosing to follow Jesus Christ and commit their lives to Him.
Namdar returns to each community where there are new believers and leads them in the same training that East-West trainers taught him years ago. New believers are learning to share their faith and plant house churches. As a result, entire families and communities are being reached with the gospel . . . for the very first time. Namdar and many other Central Asian believers fervently pray for the day when the every nation in Central Asia will know who God is and worship Him as their Savior.
