Read Revelation 19:1-2 and Revelation 21:1-4.
“Spoiler alert!”
We usually don’t want to hear the end of a story because it ruins the fun of getting engrossed in the narrative. There are times, though, when knowing the end of the story enables us to endure the full range of emotions it conjures up.
When my wife started watching the first Jurassic Park movie, she wanted to stop it because she was so overwhelmed with fear that the children were going to die. So I leaned over and whispered to her that the children would survive. Only when she knew the ending could she endure the middle.
In the same way, our knowledge of how God’s story ends helps us endure the difficulties in our own story. He is good and His plan will prevail.
Father, thank You for giving us a glimpse into how our stories end with an eternity spent with You. Give us strength to endure difficult times. Amen.
