Training Multiplies the Gospel
Georges* liked to spend the early hours of his evening playing soccer with his friends in a field near their African village. He and his friends would gather each day to distract themselves from the difficulties and burdens of their everyday lives.
It was during one of their twilight soccer games in that field that Georges and his friends would find their lives forever changed.
A group of East-West national partners had just finished a day of training at a local church—eager to apply what they had learned from their trainers that day. They went out into the community and found themselves on Georges’ soccer field.
As the group of believers approached them, Georges and his friends finished their soccer game and came to meet them—hoping for new friends and a few laughs to help them unwind.
But as the believers started talking, Georges recognized that they were sharing a message that was more important than any humor or casual introduction. The young friends listened intently as the story of Jesus was told, and in that message they heard a way for all of their internal burdens to be lifted forever.
That night, on an open field in Africa, the young men trusted Jesus Christ as their Savior and found themselves as more than friends... now they’re brothers for eternity.
