The Power of the Living God

Rahm* spent his entire life seeking the help of the Hindu gods. When he found himself jobless in his early twenties, he sought their favor even more. Each day, he would go to the temple and pray to Sai Baba for help in getting a job.

Rahm’s mother had turned to Jesus Christ a few years earlier and desperately hoped her son would come to Him as well. Even though she had shared her faith with Rahm, he still turned to the powerless gods in the Hindu temples. But when the Power to Change campaign came to Mumbai, she made sure that he would be impacted by it through helping her serve food each day for the campaign volunteers at her church.

Each day, Rahm would deliver the food his mother had prepared for the volunteers, and it was at the church that he found the Power to Change booklet with stories of other people whose lives had been transformed through Jesus. Every day, he would read one or two of the stories … and every day, he left without making a decision.

But one day, something changed. When he delivered the food, he sat down to speak with one of the volunteers. The night before, he had a dream about Jesus and their church. The volunteer was a little surprised but he talked to him about Jesus and the stories he had read in the book, and, by the end of their conversation, Rahm had given his life to Christ.

Just hours later, Rahm got a phone call with a job offer, and as he hung up, he smiled because he had found the One True Living God who really held the power to change his life.
