The Truth of God

Written by John Maisel | Jun 30, 2023 10:00:00 AM

I always feel blessed when Jesus says, “I tell you the truth.” My heart jumps when He says, “‘the truth will set you free (John 8:32).’”

These words are the highest motivation for Christians to fight to live the walk of faith. Please allow me to review some of God’s statements of truth in the Scriptures.

  • “Do not be anxious about anything … .” –Philippians 4:6
  • “Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances ... .” -1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
  • “... test them all; hold on to what is good, reject every kind of evil. ” -1 Thessalonians 5:21-22
  • “‘But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses ... .’” –Acts 1:8
  • “‘Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.’” –Joshua 1:9

These words must take root in our lives to experience the abundant life Christ has to offer. God’s Word is the primary way Christians fall more in love with Jesus daily.

“For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.” –Hebrews 4:12

The Scriptures are like the cutting knife of a skilled surgeon. The Holy Spirit is the skilled hand of God that brings about inner healing to both our hearts and minds. These short statements of Scripture—as well as the entire Bible—are like taking in good blood to fight diseases in our bodies, making us healthy in our walk with Jesus.

You cannot do Jesus on the fly if you truly wish to see and understand the rich mercy and grace He’s extended to us. You must get to know Him intimately through God’s Word.

So my friends, let’s go deep with Jesus in the Scriptures. Let’s walk closely with Him in our private world and let His truth transform us. And finally, let’s go public in our identity with Him and make much of Him in our networks.

The depth of our relationship with our Savior and Lord is directly related to the time we spend in His Word. The written word is to become the living Word in each of our lives.
