When the gospel clicks

It took an entire semester before Hikaru* mustered up the courage to meet with his professor—an East-West missionary—to learn more about his Christian faith.

Hikaru was interested in his professor’s beliefs, but he still had questions. The professor frequently reached out to talk about faith with Hikaru, but he resisted the offer until winter break.

With more time in his schedule, Hikaru felt an urgency to explore Christianity and decided to meet the professor at a local track.

When the day came, they sat in the bleachers and the professor once again shared the truth of the gospel—"God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life (John 3:16)."

Hikaru was in awe that God wanted to restore His relationship with humanity, and that He made a way for that to happen through Jesus.

And the gospel clicked.

Hikaru wanted to follow Christ and asked, “What must I do?”

That moment the professor led him through a simple believers prayer. Since then, Hikaru has learned to pray and was given a Bible to study over the break. Please join us in praying for this new brother as he begins growing in his newfound faith.
