East-West Recommends: 8 Devotions for Advent

December is the start of Advent, which is a season on the church calendar that emphasizes the coming of Jesus.

As our staff, missionaries and national partners prepare to celebrate His birth around the world, we asked them to share some of the devotionals that have impacted them most during this season. Our hope is that their recommendations stir an eager excitement as you gather with family and friends to praise God for the greatest gift we’ve ever received—Jesus Christ.

“It’s a season for cherishing and worshiping this characteristic of God—that he is a searching and saving God, that he is a God on a mission, that he is not aloof or passive or indecisive. He is never in the maintenance mode, coasting or drifting. He is sending, pursuing, searching, saving.” -John Piper
